Fan Demonstration The fan, or in Korean Puche, is an innocent cooling accessory that women can carry at their side and, when necessary, use as a weapon. In Hapkido, we know that everyday tools can be transformed into weapons when required. The fan is one of these; its true story is that it is a weapon dangerous enough not to be shared on social media. In WAHA Hapkido, since our aim is to preserve life rather than kill, and to restore health rather than cause injury, we as WAHA officials teach the fan both as a cooling tool and as a weapon for self-defense. With these techniques, we organize free fan competitions and teach its hyong to ensure it is not forgotten. The fan is practiced and competed with both single and double forms. Competitions are held separately for boys and girls in categories of children, youth, adults, and seniors.
